In accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Education requirements, each full credit represents exactly 110 scheduled instructional hours, and prerequisites must be strictly verified prior to course enrollment. Course Description: This course emphasizes the consolidation of the literacy, communication, and critical and creative thinking skills necessary for success in academic and daily life. Students will analyze a range of challenging literary texts from various historical periods, countries, and cultures; interpret and evaluate informational and graphic texts; and create complex oral, written, and media texts in a variety of styles. An important focus will be on using academic language coherently and confidently, selecting reading strategies, and developing greater precision in expository writing.
Domestic Prerequisite: English, Grade 10, Academic (ENG2D).
International Prerequisite: Evaluated equivalent of Grade 10 Academic English verified via translated certified transcript and PLAR, or approved language competency assessment.
PLAR & MSA Admissions Pathways: Equivalency evaluation is processed via Form OSR-PLAR-01. Mature students over 18 may write the MSA Online Evaluation to verify reading, writing, and language comprehension readiness.
Academic Audit & Implementation Notes: This course is the mandatory prerequisite for senior Grade 12 English (ENG4U), which is required for admission into all university programs in Ontario.

PLAR & MSA Admissions Pathways: Under PPM No. 132, mature students over 18 may satisfy OSSD requirements. If they present a completed postsecondary degree from an accredited Canadian institution, they may qualify for the OSSD by completing a minimum of one Grade 12 credit (which must be ENG4U) to establish graduation criteria.
Academic Audit & Implementation Notes: Critical Admission Notice: ENG4U is the single most important secondary credit in Ontario. It is a mandatory admission requirement for 100% of university programs, and its final grade is always factored into the top-six university admission average.

✅ Step 3: Receive Decision & Pay Tuition You will receive an email with your admission decision. If approved, this email will contain your official Offer of Admission, your tuition invoice, and secure instructions on how to pay your fee.
🎓 Step 4: Complete Enrollment Once your fee payment is successfully processed, your enrollment is finalized! You will receive your Enrolment Contract, Letter of Acceptance (LOA), and immediate access to your course materials on
